Azzaha Ibrahim is an independent researcher, artist, and architect, who has studied and researched since 1998, the intricate relationships between heritage, the ancient arts and architecture. He obtained guidance and references for his research from palaces, mosques, houses, monuments, wakafs, as well as ancient carvings and artifacts. Utusan Malaysia, a local daily newspaper company, has labeled itself as the Researcher for the Traditional Architecture of the Malay Realm.
The scope of his research is not restricted to Malaysia but extends to southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia, as well as south Asian countries like India, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Azzaha’s extensive research revealed that the architecture, culture and history of these countries share a unique bond.
Other than Measured Drawings including visual documentation, he also used methods such as sound recordings and interviews, site analyses, sketches, 3D animations, 3D renders, video documentation, historical documentation and data for various traditional art and architectures.
He produced sketches, drawings and paintings as documentation from his research especially those related to the artwork and architecture of old Kingdom call Langkasuka. He also collaborated with other artists and researchers in organizing art projects for international audiences in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and France.
